Level 1 includes a kitchen, half bath, and great room. If space requirements are minimal, the "Bodega" from Tumbleweed Tiny House Company makes a perfect guest house or weekend getaway. Available in a pint size package of just 261 square feet, the tiny farmhouse cottage features a front facing gable and covered porch with quaint Victorian-era detailing. The upper level of 264 square feet features a TV loft that overlooks the living room below. A half bath and storage closet adjoin the loft in this enchanting small farmhouse plan.

Certainly, you didn’t find too many original Farmhouse designs that were situated on basement foundations but, as in all things, progress has made basements available in almost any home design.

Most of our stock plans come as 2x4 exterior wall construction by default. We do provide options to change the exterior wall type. A signature of the classic farmhouse plan is the porch, and the #48721 plan doesn’t disappoint in this regard. But the highlight may be the covered porch that wraps completely around three sides of the home, creating an outdoor oasis to take in the scenery all around.

A large country kitchen was a necessity for the early farmers of America and the Farmhouse style kitchen may have gotten an update but much of the space and practicality remain the same. Current farmhouse kitchens are large, spacious and yet, cozy; there may be wood floors, an adjacent hearth room with a warming fireplace and solid wood or butcher block countertops. Additionally, you may find an apron/farmhouse sink, a large center island, open shelving and a massive wood farmhouse table. All these elements combine to create a welcoming and inviting spot for family and friends to gather in comfort and take part in the preparation and enjoyment of the meals created in these iconic kitchens.

Highpoint Collection Kitchen Sink can be installed Undermount or OvermountIt is 9-inches deep, which I love. You’re not expected to put this together by yourself, but you can. One of our more popular options is reversing the plan. Ordering the reverse option will not only flip the plan on the sets for you, it will also correct the text to make the plan read correctly while reversed.
Occupying Level 2 is the master bedroom suite with walk-in closet. The master bath includes dual sinks, and a separate bathtub and shower. Nostalgic reminders of our rich agricultural heritage, barn homes continue to rise in popularity.
I learned the hard way about a kitchen plan with smaller than typical appliances. I had a hard time finding a fridge that was short enough to fit under the cabinet over my fridge at my log cabin. When that fridge went, I just took the top cabinet out so that I could use a taller fridge that held more.
Under the careful supervision of Hunt Hale Jones Architects, a nondescript 1950s-era shack was transformed into the picturesque farmhouse cottage we see today.
